Ways to Drink More Water

Drinking water is so important. Not just for your body, but also for your skin and hair, and many other things. Around a year ago, I wrote a post about the importance of drinking water, which you can read here, but today I am going to give you some tips in how to drink more water.

1. Start off your day with a big glass of water
I find that this is the easiest way to start a day of drinking lots of water. I can't tell you how many times, I have gotten to the evening and realised I haven't drunk very much, and then had to drink loads at one time. If you start out the day by drinking around 500ml to 1 litre of water, you have already consumed a lot. It will also help you to wake up in the morning, especially if it is cold water. This will also kickstart your metabolism for the day.

2. Set reminders
Although it sounds silly, it is so easy to forget to drink. You may just have a couple of sips here and there but that isn't enough to get you through the day. If you set four reminders throughout the day (every 2 or 3 hours) to drink 500ml, you will easily consume 2 litres throughout the day, if not more.

3. Water bottle D.I.Y
I'm not claiming to have come up with this idea, but it is very helpful. You basically just need to draw lines on your water bottles, of where you need to drink up to and by what time. This will just help you keep on track throughout the day, and if you are drinking some every 30-60 minutes, you will barely need to drink anything at a time.

4. Set yourself a goal
The best way to remember to drink a lot of water, is by saying 'okay, this month I am going to drink 2 litres of water everyday'. Then you could make a chart to fill in everyday, saying whether or not you have reached your goal. The aim then, is to never go to bed before you have had 2 litres of water. At first you may end up drinking the majority at 9pm and then needing the toilet a hundred times overnight, but it will get easier, and you know it is benefiting your body.

5. Put fruit in the water
I don't do this that often, but if you aren't so keen on water or find it boring, putting fruit in it to infuse it is a great idea. You can find loads of ideas on the internet of different fruit combinations.

If you have any other tips, leave a comment letting me know.
