Things I Have Learnt in One Year of Blogging

As you will know if you read yesterday's post, I have now been writing this blog for a year. So I thought that I would write a post about what I have learnt throughout this past year.

1. It is not as easy as I first thought.
Not that I ever thought that I would be easy, but it takes a lot more that I would ever have thought. Even when you are not writing blog posts, you need to spend time planning posts- and coming up with ideas all the time is not always easy. I have also learnt that it is important to not put pressure on yourself. I am the kind of person who feels annoyed with myself if I don't post as much as I want to, so it has taught me that I need to post when it works for me, and not when I feel like I should be.

2. It takes a lot more time that I would have ever thought.
Before I started blogging, I thought that it was just about writing a post, attaching a picture, and finishing there. But it is so much more than that. You have to spend so much time planning, and doing behind the scenes work, which is something that I never would have expected before I started. Hats off to people who post daily, the whole way through the year.

3. You learn a lot.
Before I started, I would never have imagined the amount you learn. I am not claiming that I am a blogging genius, because I am 100% not, but I have learnt a lot. Not just about the writing side, but photography and the layout and more technological side of it all.

4. People in the beauty community are so nice.
You see so much stuff online about people leaving mean comments online, but the people who comment on my blog are so kind. I never get negative comments and always get the kindest messages and comments, from other bloggers and people who read my blog.

Let me know if you agree with any of these.
