My Favourite Drugstore Concealers

Concealers are an important part of my makeup routine because I spend the majority of my life tired. I need products that will cover any dark circles and brighten up my eyes, but I don't want to be spending a fortune. Here are some of my favourite drugstore concealers, that won't break the bank.

1. Rimmel Wake Me Up Concealer
This concealer is raved about so often and is one of my all time favourite concealers. It costs only £5.49 and is better than some £20+ concealers that I have tried in the past. Rimmel also have a Wake Me Up Foundation and I am sure I am the only person on the planet that hasn't tried it.

The concealer does exactly what it claims to do. It brightens up your eyes a lot and has great coverage on both dark under eye circles and blemishes. The lasting power is pretty impressive, but is not the best. I have repurchased this a couple of times and I recently ran out of it, so I will need to buy some more very soon.

2. Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer
This is such a popular product and so many people repurchase it over and over again. I tried this for the first time last summer and fell in love with it straight away. I bought a shade which is a little to dark for me, so I tend to use it on blemishes rather than under my eyes. The coverage is amazing and is probably the best out of all three concealers. It costs a tiny £3.99 and is probably one of the best value for money drugstore products out there. The only thing that I don't like about this is the packaging. The writing rubbed off within a couple of weeks of owning it, but as it is such a cheap product it doesn't bother me too much

3. Beauty UK Conceal&Correct Concealer
I have never really heard much about Beauty UK, but when I was in Superdrug a couple of months ago, I decided to browse some of their products. I picked up this concealer for £2.99 which was an amazing price. It is not anything mind-blowing, but it is a nice concealer for everyday use. It brightens up my eyes a lot, although it doesn't have the best coverage. I tend to use it when I am not wearing to much makeup, or when my under eye circles aren't too bad. I love the formula and it stays on for around 3-5 hours.

Have you tried any of these concealers? What are your drugstore favourites?

The Right to Glow - Skin Care Tips For Radiant Skin || Guest Post

It’s easy to have radiant skin in your teens, but later on in life it can be a problem to get that glow back. When your skin is smooth and clean, it reflects light easily and it appears to be glowing. There are a few easy tips and tricks which can help you keep your skin young and beautiful. Get that gorgeous complexion and amazing skin as soon as you wake up and stay fresh all day long.

Clean your pores

Dead skin cells and excessive oil accumulate if you don’t clean your face regularly and you risk getting your pores clogged which can cause blackheads and acne to appear. There are a few easy things you can do to prevent this from happening. The simplest and one of the most effective things is to steam your face. Let the water boil on the stove, put a towel over your head and lean over the steaming water for 10 to 15 minutes. This will open up your pores and leave it easier for you to clean your face. Try using a cleanser on a face cleaning brush like the Clairsonic ones. After that you can put on your moisturizer; it will get through your skin more easily.

Remove your makeup before you go to bed

It can be tiring and boring having to take your makeup off before going to bed if you had a long day and/or a glass of wine too much. Nevertheless, skipping your pre-bed routine can seriously harm your skin. You might think that the only one suffering in case you leave your makeup on is your pillowcase, but it is more serious than that. In one experiment, a girl applied makeup every morning but didn’t take it off in the evening for one whole month. The results were terrifying: eye inflammation and loss of eyelashes because of mascara, red eyelids, blocked and enlarged pores, wrinkles significantly worse… experts said that in a month, her skin had aged a decade. Take your makeup off girls, I’m not even kidding.

Clean your makeup brushes

Cleaning your brushes is equally important as cleaning your skin. However, I’ve met a lot of women who forget to do it regularly or don’t do it at all. This is a big problem, especially for those who have sensitive skin prone to breakouts. Brushes collect dirt and get in touch with makeup and your skin every day and if you don’t clean them you risk putting all that dirt and bacteria on your face. Clean your powder brushes twice a month, and your foundation brush at least once a week. I clean my Jane Iredale makeup brushes in a cup of warm water in which I add a few drops of shampoo. I swish them around a few times to make sure they are clean. Use lukewarm water to rinse, pat them with a towel a few times and leave them flat to dry in the air naturally.

Beautiful, smooth, glowing skin is every girl’s dream, and we often notice that something’s wrong when it’s already too late to change things. Be responsible and take good care of your skin, you will look younger and feel better alter on in life.

Sleek Eyebrow Stylist Review

In the past, I have generally stuck to using eyeshaddow to fill in my eyebrows. However, I had wanted to try something new for a while, so I bought the Sleek Eyebrow Stylist, in the shade Medium 717.

I will start off my saying that my brows are reasonably dark but I just like to use this pencil to fill in more sparse patches and give my brows a bit more definition. This is probably why I have stuck to eyeshaddows in the past, but I have found this product a lot easier to use. It is very easy to apply and gives great results.

The packaging says:
'A groomed brow gives instant definition for low maintenance beauty. The fit for purpose slanted tip  allows you to craft your shape, using the thin edge for outlining and the wide angle for filling. This twist up pencil is designed to work with the angle of your brow. Removing the cap on the opposite end reveals the grooming brush for the finishing brush.'

I prefer to use the grooming brush first, to control my brows and brush them to make them more shaped. The pencil is the perfect colour match for me and they still look very natural.
This product stays on all day, and is a lot better than any other eye shadows that I have used on my brows in the past. For £5.99, I think it's a bargain.

Benefit Makeup Wishlist

You guys know how much I love a wishlist. Here are some of the Benefit products that I have heard very good things about and would like to try out.

Erase Paste- £20.50
I am always tired so a good concealer is very necessary in my makeup routine. Over £20 does seem very pricey, which is why I am quite hesitant about buying it. However, I have used a Benefit concealer before (Boiing) and I loved it.

CORALista Blush- £23.50
There are a lot of blushes from different brands that I love a lot. The packaging caught my eye at first because it is so different to most other products. I also love the colour, but it is pretty expensive.

Creaseless Cream Shadow- £15.50
This is a pretty new product from Benefit. I have tried and love the Maybelline Colour Tattoo and I would really love to try out some more cream shadows. There are ten different colours in this collection. I probably wouldn't go for the purple, but one of the more neutral colours instead.

BADgal Lash- £17.50
This is one of Benefit's more raved about products. I recently tried out the They're Real Mascara and love it, but I am not sure how they compare.

Oxygen Wow Foundation- £26.50
I know that this is a very popular foundation. It is supposed to be really hydrating for your skin and it also has an oil free formula. It comes in nine different shades, which means you will be likely to find a good colour match.

Gimme Brow- £17.50
Out of all of the products on this list, Gimme Brow is the one that I want to try out the most. So many people have recommended this product and I would love to try it.

Lollitint- £24.50
This is a product that has been popular for a while. I love the Benetint and am sure I would also love this and it is a great two in one product.

Have you tried any of these? What do you think of them?

MAC Warm Neutral Palette

If you saw my post about the MAC makeup lesson I had, in early December, you will know that one of the things that I purchase was the Warm Neutral Palette.

It is a ready-made palette, that contains 15 different neutral eyeshaddows, some of which are matte and some shimmery. The colours included in the palette (in order) are: Hey, Warm Breeze, Gingersnap, Dark Brew, Dance in the Dark, Brule, Vanilla Extract, Honey Lust, Amber Lights, Saddle, Lemon Tart, Creative Copper, Butterfudge, Divine Decadance and Unwind.

I haven't had the chance to thoroughly try and test every single individual colour in the palette, but there are some colours that I love and use very often. My top three most used colours are Hey, Honey Lust and Divine Decadence. Both Hey and Honey Lust are very subtle shimmery colours and are good for applying all over the lid for a natural but pretty look. I love using Divine Decadence to blend into the crease of my eye. I also love Lemon Tart, to highlight the inner corners of my eyes and underneath my brow.

The pigmentation of the eyeshaddows are amazing and the lasting power is great.
I am obsessed with this palette and I can't wait to use it more often.

Have you tried this palette or any of the colours?

Benefit They're Real Push-Up Liner Review

When I first tried out this eyeliner, I put it away for a while because I found it so confusing and using it really stressed me out. I first had it in a tiny sample size that came in a magazine. I was then reunited with it not too long ago when I got a bigger size in a gift set.

I practiced using it and finally got the hang of it. It is a lot different to any eyeliners that I have ever used before, which I think is why I found it so strange. It has a twisty bottom, which you turn to make the eyeliner go to the top, but there is usually a bit of excess product that I have to wipe off on a make wipe or something.

I have been using it everyday and I am so obsessed with the effect that I gives. I included this in my January Favourites because I used it for almost the whole month.

It gives a smooth, solid line, which is a very dark and matte black. The slanted applicator makes it so easy to apply and also quick and simple to create a winged look.

It is waterproof, which means that you don't risk it running or smudging and it also dries very quickly. The lasting-power of the eyeliner is amazing and looks basically exactly the same at the end of the day, as it does when you apply it. Another thing which I love is that it doesn't smudge when I curl my lashes, which I find a lot of eyeliners do.

Have you tried this? What do you think?

Soap and Glory The Righteous Butter Review

I am a massive fan of Soap and Glory products and The Righteous Butter is no different.

I find moisturising such a chore and a lot of the time, just forget to do it. But, in the winter, my skin gets pretty dry so I have been making more of an effort to keep my skin hydrated. I hate the feeling of standing waiting for my moisturiser to soak in, but this one does so really quickly, which is good because I am probably the least patient person ever.

The packaging of the product says that it is suitable for 'Very Dry Skin', so it hydrates my skin very well and improves the condition of your skin really quickly. The price is also good, as it is a drugstore product and costs only £10.50 for a 300ml tub.

I haven't used too much of the tub, but I do used it often, which makes me think that it will last me for a very long time. It also has the 'typical Soap and Glory scent', which I absolutely love.

If you are wondering whether or not to buy this I would definitely recommend that you do so. It also makes a great gift for a friend.

Have you tried this before? What did you think?

January Favourites

Throughout January, I have found a lot of different products that I love. This is because of some new things that I got for Christmas and also things that I bought in sales around Christmas. Here are my January Favourites:

Benefit They're Real Push-Up Liner
When I first got this product, I'm not going to lie I was so confused by it. It is an eyeliner that is a lot different to ones I am used to. I love the way it applies, as it gives a dark matte line that lasts all day. Another thing that I love about it is that even straight after applying the eyeliner, I can still curl my lashes without it smudging.

I did write a full review of this recently. I was very late jumping on the Porefessional bandwagon, but I have really enjoyed using it recently. It makes my makeup last for a lot longer and creates a smooth surface to apply my makeup to. My pores are also a lot less visible after applying this and my makeup looks a lot more pigmented.

Givenchy Power Youth Serum
I need to start off by saying that I am 16 years old and definitely don't need to be using anti-ageing products on my skin, so I promise that I am not using it for that reason. I came across this by accident a while ago when my Dad won me a bag of makeup goodies and this was included. I decided that I wouldn't let it go to waste just because it was designed for ageing skin. It is a MIRACLE WORKER! It leaves my skin feeling so super soft and has cleared up my skin amazingly.

Sleek Eyebrow Stylist
This is another product that is also new to me this month. It is almost the perfect colour match for my eyebrows. I only really need to use it to fill in a few of the more sparse patches of my eyebrows. It is double ended; one has an eyebrow pencil and the other has a brush. It also stays on all day with its amazing lasting power.

What were some of your favourite products from January?
