What's In My Makeup Bag?

The products in my makeup bag are constantly changing. I love trying out new things and varying the products I use, but this is what is in my makeup bag at the moment.

At the moment, I have both a foundation and a BB Cream in my makeup bag, so that on a good skin day I can used BB Cream. The foundation that I use is the Maybelline Superstay Better Skin and I love it. My skin has improved so much since using it. The BB Cream that I have is the Maybelline Dream Pure BB Cream. I only bought this recently but so far I love it.

The concealer that I have in my makeup bag is the Collection Lasting Perfection concealer. I recently replaced Benefit's Boing concealer with the Collection one. I really like the Benefit concealer but I am finding the Lasting Perfection very quick and easy to apply and it is very long lasting.

The next thing in my makeup bag is something that I know everybody loves and that is the Rimmel Stay Matte Pressed Powder. So far I haven't found another powder that compares with it. It is very affordable and keeps you matte for a long time.

The bronzer that I have in my makeup bag is the Rimmel Natural Bronzer. It looks very natural but adds a lot of warmth and colour. I dropped this by accident and broke it a little bit, as you can see from the picture... oops.

The next thing in my makeup bag is the MAC Powder Blush in the colour Fleur Power. Again, I bought this pretty recently but I am really enjoying it and I love the colour. Also, so far it seems to last for a long time and brings a natural, healthy colour to your cheeks.

For eyebrows, I am currently using the Collection Work the Colour Eyebrow Kit. I really love using the brown colour in the middle and I find it to be the perfect colour for me. I have also found that it lasts for a long time. However, I don't use the brush that it comes with. Instead I use the Real Techniques Brow Brush. Also, I rarely use the clear brow mascara as I have found that it can cause the colour to come off quicker.

As my makeup bag has limited space, need an eyeshaddow that is small and compact and doesn't take up that much room. So, I have the Maybelline Colour Tattoo in the colour On and On Bronze. I love this because it it is a neutral colour that can be used alone for a natural look but also as a base for a more formal look.

The eye lash curlers that I have in my makeup bag are from Primark and they were very cheap. I know that Primark is not always the best quality but for the time being, they are perfectly good enough.

The eyeliner that I have in my makeup bag is the Soap and Glory Supercat Liner. I love this a lot because I find it so easy to use. It is a pen styled liner so it is super easy to apply.

The next thing in my makeup bag is Maybelline's The Rocket Mascara, in the waterproof version. I am really loving this at the moment. It gives you a lot of length and volume and lasts for ages. If you want to read my full review click here.

For lipstick, I have one of the Rimmel Kate Lipsticks in the shade 05. It has long lasting colour and is a beautiful shade. It is a matte lipstick, which I like but it is quite drying on the lips.

I always like to have some kind of lipbalm in my makeup bag and it is usually a Babylips. At the moment, it is the Babylips Electro in the colour Strike a Rose. I love them because they are moisturising but still give a lot of colour. For my full review, click  here.

Let me know what you have in your makeup bags and if you have any of the same products as me.

Little Red Bag

Yesterday, when I got home, I found out that my Dad had managed to get me a red bag filled with goodies in a charity auction.

When I opened it, I was pleased to find a lot of high end mini products. It included some makeup, skincare products and perfume.

Some of the products are things like anti-wrinkle cream and I'm 15 so I may not need them just yet, but I love the look of everything in the bag and can't wait to try them out.

Inside the bag (Red Egon Furstenberg Bag):

Mini Bottle of Dior J'adore Perfume
Estee Lauder Advanced Time Zone
Mini Guerlain Insolence Perfume
NARS Larger Than Life Eyeliner
Givenchy Power Youth Serum
Givenchy Youth Energizer
Clinique Butter Shine Lipstick- Rouge Fondant
Mini NARS Blush- Deep Throat

I am really excited to try everything out.

If you have tried any of these products, let me know what you think of them.

Cleaning My Makeup Brushes

I know everyone has a pretty similar way of cleaning their makeup brushes but I find it interesting to find out how others go about it and what products they use. So, I am going to tell you about how I clean my makeup brushes.

Firstly, I know a lot people have a set routine of when they clean their makeup brushes. I personally don't really. I basically just clean my brushes as and when I need to.

Another thing that I know a lot of people like to do, is use a makeup brush cleaner. I have never actually tried out any brush cleaners but I do plan on trying some soon. I use Johnson's Baby Shampoo because it is so gentle and it leaves my brushes feeling fresh and really soft.

So the first thing that I do when cleaning my makeup brushes is run them under warm water. This just removes any excess makeup such as any powder that is pretty loose on the brush.

The next thing that I do is put some of the baby shampoo into my hand and clean the brush with that. I will then run it under the tap until all the shampoo has come off. For some brushes you only need to do this once, but for others you will need to repeat this process a few times. You know that your brushes are clean, when you run them under the tap and no makeup comes off.

After this, I just spread the brushes out into several cups or mugs and leave them to dry.

If you have any makeup brush cleaners that you recommend, please let me know.

Benefits of Drinking More Water

I have always been the kind of person that drinks quite a lot of water but probably not as much as I should. So, at the beginning of this summer I decided that everyday I would drink at least 2 litres of water. It was a bit of a challenge at times, but I did do it every single day of the summer holidays.

I was so surprised by the results of just drinking more water.

First of all, it helped my skin. I have never had extremely bad skin but I get spots here and there like most other girls my age. I was fully aware that water is supposed to help your skin, but it surprised me how much it did. I obviously still get some spots, but it has reduced so much. Also, my skin has just felt a lot clearer and smoother.

Another thing that has changed is my energy levels. I feel very tired a lot even though I usually have quite a bit of sleep at night and I have always wondered why. Since drinking more water I have just felt so much more awake and energised and it actually really surprised me.

I have also found that drinking more water can stop me from snacking when I am not actually hungry and just bored. If I am in one of those moods where I have nothing to do and I just want to sit and eat everything, I have a glass of water and it usually stops me from feeling that way. It shows me that sometimes when I think that I am hungry, it could really just mean that I need a drink.

Water is also just really good to just keep everything inside your body generally healthy.

If you think that you don't drink enough, I really recommend drinking 2 litres a day. It is not that hard. You just have to have 500ml (1 bottle of water) at every meal time and then one at some other point through out the day.

The Disney Tag

I saw this tag not to long ago on chanteldione.blogspot.co.uk and I just loved it. Being a huge Disney fan myself, I had to do it.

1. Favourite Disney film?

From a very young age, I have always loved the Little Mermaid. I love all the songs and characters. It is just a great film and is my all time favourite. I also love things like Toy Story (I know it's Pixar but it is still Disney).

2. Favourite Disney Character?

This is quite a hard one for me because there are so many Disney characters that I love. One of my favourites is Dory from Finding Nemo because she is hilarious.

3. Favourite Disney princess?

My favourite Disney princess is probably Belle from Beauty and the Beast. She was my favourite from a very young age and I used to dress up like her all the time.

4. Rather be Aurora or Cinderella?

I cannot decide on this one. There are perks and downfalls to each one of them so I am not sure. Although I think I would prefer Cinderella's love story.

5. Rather be Hercules or Tarzan?

Tarzan. It would be fun to live in the jungle and swing from vines.

6. Rather be Lizzie McGuire or Raven Baxter?

I love them both but I would be Raven. It would be so cool to see into the future.

7. Favourite Disney song?

As I mentioned earlier I love the Little Mermaid and my all time favourite Disney song is Part of Your World from that film.

8. Which Disney character would be your best friend?

Peter Pan. It would be amazing to have a best friend who could take you flying.

9. What Disney character would be your pet?

Flounder from the Little Mermaid because he is so cute.

10. Have you ever been to Disneyland?

Yes, I have been to Disneyland Paris a few times and Disneyworld Florida. I am also going to Disneyland Paris again in October with my school :)

My Skincare Routine

Hi everyone,

I have always preferred to do my skincare in the evening rather than in the morning. This is simply because I am so lazy in the mornings and I would prefer to use that time to sleep.

I have found that this current skincare routine really suits my skin and has helped it a lot.

So, first of all, I take off my makeup. I like to use the Body Shop Camomile Gentle Eye Makeup Remover to remove my eye make up, but I have run out :(. Then, for the rest of the makeup, I use the Simple Cleansing facial wipes. Recently I have just been using the Simple wipes to take off all of my makeup, including my eye makeup, because I have none of the eye makeup remover left.

After that, I wash my face with a flannel and the Neutrogena Pore and Shine Face Wash. This removes any excess makeup that was left and any oils or dirt that your skin has picked up throughout the day.
I then remove this with the flannel and repeat with the Soap and Glory Peaches and Clean Deep Purifying Cleanser. This leaves your skin feeling so soft and fresh.

To finish off I apply some of the Jergens Ultra Healing Extra Dry Skin Moisturiser. I am aware that it is a body moisturiser, but for me it works just as well on my face. It works so well on dry skin and smells so good. I can't say enough good things about it. I just love it!

August Favourites

Hi Everyone,

August has come and gone so fast and there have been a few things that I have been loving this month. Some are old products and some are new.
So, here are my August Favourites.

Soap and Glory Supercat Eyeliner

I have loved this eyeliner for quite a long time now and I repurchased it again several months ago. I sometimes find eyeliner a challenge, especially if I am going for winged eyes, but this makes it so much easier. I am such a big fan of this style of eyeliner because it it is just like drawing on your eyes with a felt tip pen. This is currently my go-to eyeliner and I am wearing it pretty much everyday. It also lasts for quite a long time too.

Rimmel 60 Second Nail Polish- 403 Oragasm

I did a review of this nail polish collection recently but throughout the month of August, I have worn the orange colour called Oragasm almost everyday. I have found it a very suitable colour for summer as it is bright and I love it, As I mentioned in the review, the polish only lasts on my nails for a couple of days but it is so easy to apply that it doesn't really matter.

Real Techniques Buffing Brush

A few months ago, I bought the Real Techniques Core Collection Kit and my favourite brush from this kit is the Buffing Brush. I have used the Expert Face Brush for quite a long time now, but for the time being I have transferred to the Buffing Brush. I have found that it is so much softer and also because it is a bigger brush, it is better at blending foundation evenly.

Collection Work the Colour Eyebrow Kit

I am so obsessed with this product at the moment. It is a kit which has three different coloured powders. The colour in the middle, is the perfect shade for my brows. It is pretty long lasting and I use it everyday. I love it. I don't use the brush that it comes with, instead I use the Real Techniques Brow Brush. I also don't often used the clear mascara that it comes with either because I feel like it stops the powder from lasting for as long.

The Vampire Diaries
My last thing is a TV favourite instead of a beauty favourite. I know that The Vampire Diaries has been out for ages but I only started watching it recently. I have been watching it on Netflix and I don't know why I have never watched it before. I love it so much and I watch it whenever I have any spare time.

Let me know what you have been loving this month and if you have written an August Favourites blog post, put the link down below in the comments. I really enjoy reading them.
