Back To School Organisation Tips

It is that time of year, where school starts again and it is important to stay organised. So, here are my tips to stay organised when you go back to school, college, university or even if you just want to become more organised in general.

I am not going to lie and say that I am the most organised person in the world, but I do think that I have some good tips which could help people.

1. Don't leave everything until the last minute.
It is so easy to put everything off until the last minute. We have all been there, where you end up rushing something because you didn't leave yourself enough time to do it properly.
What I like to do, is pretend to myself that the deadline is one day earlier, so even if I leave it until the 'last day' I still have time to complete it.
I always feel a lot more organised, with things like homework, if I do it on the day that I get given it. However, I know that this is not always possible and if I am honest I am not very good at doing this.
Just make sure that you leave yourself enough time to do a good job of whatever you have to do.

2. Keep a tidy work space.
This is something that always works for me and I do most of the time.
I don't know if it is just me, but I really hate working when my bedroom/ work space is messy. I just feel super unorganised and it is easy to lose bits of paper.
So, usually before I do my homework, I spend 10 minutes or so clearing up either my bedroom, desk or work space.

3. Get plenty of sleep
This is something that I definitely have to work on, but I always feel a lot more energized and ready to get work done when I am not tired.
Also, it's no fun to feel drowsy all day because you haven't had enough sleep. I always try to get 9 hours sleep, but when I have to wake up around 7am this can be hard.
Something that has helped me, though, is using an app called Sleep Cycle. It basically measures how long you sleep for and how well you sleep at different points during the night.
It made me realise that I needed to get more sleep and it really helps.

4. Use Folders
I find using folders or binders really help with organisation of school work and homework. You can use dividers to separate your folder into subjects or topics. They are an easy way to flick through all of the sheets you have, instead of losing them.

5. Write Lists
I have all ways loved writing lists. They really help me to organise myself and all of the things that I need to get done.
If you have lots of things to remember, I recommend figuring out what order you need to do things and write them down in a list.
Another app that I recommend is Wunderlist. You basically just write in all of the things that you need to do and then tick them off as you go along.

I hope that some of these tips can come in useful for you.

Graze Box Review and a Little Treat For You

I have been getting Graze boxes delivered to me for several months now and I love them. For those of you who are unaware of what Graze is,  it is a website where you order boxes which contain four different snacks.

You can choose how often you want your boxes (I get one every two weeks) and you can also choose what type of box you want. You can choose the Light Box, the Nibble Box or the Goody Box and each of them contain different types of snacks.

I love getting home from a long day at school and finding that my Graze box has come through the post.

A lot of the snacks are different, so there are some that I like and some that I don't like so much. A few days after your Graze box has arrived, you get an email called 'Rate or Slate', where you can review what was in your Graze box. If you like it, they will send it to you again and if you don't they won't.

In this fortnights box, I got Wholegrain Banoffe Dippers, Summer Pudding, Garden of England and Smoky Hotdog. I have had all of these before, except from the Smoky Hotdog. I love all of them and I am excited to try the one that I haven't had before.

I was so lucky with this fortnight's Graze box because it had my favourite ever snack in it, which is the Wholegrain Banoffe Dippers. If you love Banoffe Pie as much as I do this is definitely perfect for you. It is a banana flavoured biscuit with toffee sauce to dip them into. It is so delicious.

Some of the other ones that I really like are:
- Healthy Popping Corn
- Any type of flapjack
- Brownie
- Garden of England
- Summer pudding
- Jam Doughnut
- Triple Berry Smoothie

Some of the ones that I don't like so much:
- Herby Bread Basket (some of the bits in there I like and others I don't)
- Sticky Toffee Pudding
- Twist of Black Pepper Popcorn

What's in it for you?

When you sign up for Graze you are automatically given a Friendcode. This is a code that you can offer to your friends, to give them their 1st, 5th and 10th Graze Box free. But don't worry, you are not committed to buy another box after you get your free one. You can cancel your subscription at any point, through the website.

If you do want to continue buying them, they are £3.89 per box.

My friendcode is RUTHW41YP. Please go ahead and use the code to try a box. I really recommend it.

Also on the website, you may see that for every person that uses my friendcode, I get £1 off of a box. But please don't think that this is the reason I am giving you my friendcode. I will be donating that £1 to charity, which is also an option on the website. The charity that the money goes to is the Graze School of Farming, which is where people are taught to farm effectively in developing countries.

I really hope that you take up this offer and enjoy Graze as much as I do. Click here to go straight to the website.

Thank you so much for reading x

DISCLAIMER- I am not sponsored by Graze to write this post, as everyone recieves the friendcode automatically when they sign up on the website. However, I will be notifying the company that I have written this post, so that they can read it if they would like to.

Emmy Favourites

As most people know, the Emmy's were on last night. If you do not know what the Emmys are, it is an annual award show in America, for TV shows.

I loved watching the red carpet and looking through the pictures to see what everyone was wearing. So, today I am going to show you three of my favourite outfits from this years Emmys.

Heidi Klum

I just think this dress is stunning. It is so elegant and beautiful. I also really love the colour and the back of it where it is loose and flows.

Lauren Parsekian

I know it is hard to see Lauren's outfit in this photo, but I also really love her hair and makeup. The dress is white and full length with silver detailing around the neck, upper back and down the side of the dress. It looks so beautiful and I just love it.

Julia Roberts

I love this because it is quite an unexpected dress. Most people went for full length ball gown typed dress, but this is a lot different. It also looks great on her and I love the colour.

Let me know some of your favourite looks from the Emmys.

Thanks for reading x

Collective Haul

Over the summer, I have bought a lot of new beauty products... oops.
So, today I thought that I would do a collective haul showing all of the things that I have purchased over the last month or so.

The first thing that I bought was the Maybelline Dream Pure BB Cream. I have heard a lot of good things about BB Cream, but this is the first time I have actually purchase any. I have only used it a couple of times so far, but I really love it.

The second things that I bought were two of the Rimmel Kate Moss lipsticks. I got the colours 01 (which is a red) and 05 (which is more of a pink). Again, I have used these a couple of times and love them.

The next products that I bought in the last month, were three of the new Babylips Electro lipbalms. I have already written a review about them, so click here if you are interested in reading that.

Another thing that I bought was the Collection Lasting Perfection concealer. I know that this has been a very popular concealer for a long time, but I have never gotten round to buying it and trying it out. I really like using it and it was very cheap as well. But, I have found that the writing wears off the packaging very quickly, as you can see in the photo.

The next thing that I bought was the NYC Individual Eyes Palette in the colour 914. I really liked the look of this because it has step by step parts of how to apply it. It also includes a primer and illuminator.

I also bought another palette, which was the MUA Undress Me Too palette. It includes 12 neutral eye shaddows. I bought this because I thought that it had a good range and included the kind of colours that I would normally use.

Another eye product that I bought, was the Maybelline Colour Tattoo in the colour On and On Bronze. I know that people have raved about this product for such a long time, but I have only just bought it. I have used it a couple of times and love it. I had heard that it was supposed to stay on your eyes for a very long time, but I was shocked by how long it lasted.

The final thing that I bought, was the MAC Powder Blush in the colour Fleur Power. I haven't really had time to try this to much yet, as I only bought it yesterday. But, I have heard a lot of great things about MAC blushers and I am looking forward to trying it out.

Let me know if you have tried/ like any of these products.

Thank you so much for reading x

New Baby Lips Electro Collection Review

I recently purchased three of the new Baby Lips from Superdrug and they are part of the Electro collection.

I am aware that in this whole collection, there are six different colours, but I believe there are only four out in the UK at the moment.

Anyway, I only own three right now and those colours are Pink Shock, Oh Orange and Strike a Rose (the same order as the swatches).

I will start off by saying that I do really love this collection. I am a huge fan of Maybelline and I feel like it is pretty rare for me to be let down by any of their products and this is no exception.

The first thing that I will talk about is the colour. When I first saw these, I'm not going to lie, the colours scared me a little. They are exceptionally bright as you can see from the picture and I don't think I would ever wear/ pull of colours that bright. When you apply the lip balm, it does tone down and leave you with lovely colours. The colours are a lot brighter and clearer than previous Baby Lips collections. I really like this because it means that just by using the lip balm, it almost gives the effect of lip gloss. I have found that they are really great for natural/ everyday makeup.

I have also found that the colour does not stay on my lips for that long. So, if you are looking for a long-lasting colour, this is probably not the product for you. However, with it being a lip balm, it is really easy to apply, so I don't mind topping it up every so often. I have also used them as bases before using other lip products on top.

The collection claims to give 8 hours of hydration. I'm not sure that it lasts for that long but they do give a lot of moisture. Right before I started using these, I had very dry lips and they definitely helped a lot to re-hydrate them.

Out of the three that I own, my favourite colour is Strike a Rose. I love how natural it looks, whilst still giving you a good amount of colour. Overall, I am a huge fan of these and love using them.

I you have tried these, let me know what you think. Also, if you have tried any of the other colours that I haven't mentioned, let me know what you think of them and whether or not you recommend me buying them.

Thank you so much for reading x

My Haircare Routine

Today I thought I would share with you my hair care routine. Obviously, everyone's hair is different, meaning that everybody has different ways of caring for their hair. This is the routine that works for me.

Firstly, I wash my hair with the L'Oreal Elvive Smooth and Polish shampoo and conditioner. I use a few different shampoo and conditioners at different times, but I really like this one. It leaves my hair feeling really soft and smooth. I also love the L'Oreal Triple Resist because it helps heat damaged hair.

After that, I use the Smooth and Polish masque on the very ends of my hair, which you have to leave on for 2 or 3 minutes. I find that it just helps give extra moisture and helps dry/ split ends.

I then comb through my hair with a wide-toothed comb and use a towel  to dry it a little bit.

I then spray my hair with the L'Oreal Elnett Satin Heat Protecting Spray. I have one for straightening my hair and one for when I am going to curl my hair.

I blow dry my hair and then brush it through with a paddle brush.

After that I reapply some of the heat protecting spray and straighten my hair. The straighteners I use are GHD's.

If I don't want to use heat on my hair, then I will put my damp hair into two french plaits overnight. Then in the morning I am left with wavy hair.

If you have any tips on hair care, let me know.

The Gossip Girl Tag

                                                           Obviously not my photo

As I mentioned in my 30 Facts About Me, I love Gossip Girl, so I thought I would do the Gossip Girl Tag.

1. How did you discover the show?

I didn't watch the show until it had all come out. I just watched it all on Netflix. I had heard a lot of good things about the show and one of my friends had recommended it to me.

2. Who's your favourite character?

My favourite character changed throughout watching it. But, I think overall it would have to be Blair.

3. Who would you see yourself being friends with on the show?

I could see myself being friends with the Humphrey's. I just think I would get on really well with them.

4. Chair or Dair?

Definitely Chair. I love every episode where they are together. I also love when they are scheming together and all of their cute moments.

5. What's your favourite ship that would never actually happen?

Probably Chuck and Serena. Just because it would create really good story lines and scenes between Serena and Blair.

6. If you were to be a character who would you be?

I think I would probably be someone like Vanessa. I definitely wouldn't be scheming like a lot of the other characters.

7. Have you read the book series?

I haven't read the book series but I am planning to.

8. Who's your crush on the show?

Chace Crawford, who plays Nate.

9. What was your initial though on the show?

In the first episode, I thought it was quite confusing but then after that I loved it. I love that every episode has something exciting going on.

10. Who was your favourite villan?

I don't really have one single favourite villain, but I like when Chuck and Blair team up together.

I tag any of you who love Gossip Girl to do this.

DIY Lipstick Art

This DIY is really easy to do and a very simple idea, but I had never though of doing it. I saw it on twitter not that long ago and I really loved the idea. I am pretty sure I have watched a video about it before as well. Even though it is so simple, it's so effective and looks great on the wall in a frame. It is also really cheap to make because everything you need, you probably already own. I also found it really fun to make.

You will need:
1 sheet of card
A few different colour lipsticks
A photo frame (optional)

So the first thing I did was select my piece of card. I went for A5 sized because that was the right size for the frame that I had. I would recommend quite light coloured card, so that the lipstick shows up. I went for a very pale pink.

The next thing I did was pick 3 different coloured lipsticks. Two of them were pink and one was red.

Then you just put lipstick on and kiss the paper.

The thing that I love about this DIY, is that you can make it your own. You could do the lips in different shapes and patterns and use as many/ as few as you want.

All you need to do next, is put it in a frame of your choice. You don't even need a frame. There are so many things you can do with it, e.g. make a birthday/ valentines card with it.

Let me know if you have ever made this before/ are planning to make it in the future.

Lipsticks I used:
Olay Colourmoist Copper- I think this has been discontinued because I can't find it anywhere.

Rimmel 60 Second Nail Polish Review

This summer, I have been loving the Rita Ora nail polish collection from Rimmel and there is a lot of good things I can say about it.

First of all, they dry so quickly, which I always love in a nail polish, because lets be honest, who has the time to sit and wait for your nails to dry. I wouldn't say they completely dry in 60 seconds, but it doesn't take much longer than that. I always seem to have something that I need to do when my nails are semi-dry and I manage to smudge them. This doesn't happen with this collection, as they dry so fast.

Secondly, the collection has such a vast and wide range of beautiful colours to choose from. I only own three colours from the collection (two of them being black and white, so they are not exactly adventurous) but I am definitely going to be buying some more.

800 Blackout- I have found this colour a good one to use for things like going out to dinner. It also has a lovely glossy finish to it. It is not actually part of the Rita Ora collection but it is still part of the 60 second collection.

703 White Hot Love- I am so in love with this colour. It has been my most used colour so far this summer. I find white a really great colour for your nails in the summer, because it can make you look more tanned, which I am all for.

403 Oragasm- Oragasm is a lovely orange colour, which I have also found perfect for the spring/ summer time. It is really bright and fun and I love it!

The brush is also easy to use and it makes it easier to apply. It is designed as a flat brush, rather than the typical shaped brush. This makes it easier to evenly distribute on the nail. This also means that you only really need one coat, but I usually use two, just to make it look neater.

I, also, found the price really reasonable. They are only £3.69 per bottle, but are currently on offer in Boots and Superdrug. They are £1 off at the moment, making the price only £2.69.

Being this affordable, they are obviously not perfect. They don't stay on your nails for as long as other/ higher end brands. I have found that they usually begin to chip after about two days. But, they are so easy to apply and remove, that it is no hardship to repaint them every other day.

Buy them from Superdrug here:

I hope that if you have any of this collection, you are enjoying them as much as I am.

Let me know if you recommend any of the other colours.

The Liebster Award

Thank you so much to Naomi-Rose for nominating me for the Liebster Award.

Here are the rules for this award:

You must answer all questions that are given to you
Must link back to the person that nominated you
Nominate 11 bloggers who have less than 200 followers
Provide nominees with 11 questions of your choice
Cannot nominate the person who nominated you
Must inform nominees of your nomination
Provide nominees with a link to your post for more info

My questions from Naomi-Rose:

Whats your favourite make up brand?
I would probably have to say that Maybelline is my favourite makeup brand. I just love a lot of their products and they are all pretty affordable but still excellent quality.

If you could only save one thing in a house fire (except people & pets) what would you save?
I would probably save things that are sentimental to me, such as photos because they are hard to replace. Things like makeup and clothes could be replaced but things like memories that mean a lot to you can't.

What is your dream job?
I don't really have a dream job. I would like to work in something to do with beauty and makeup or maybe own my own business. I just want to be happy in my work and enjoy what I do.

Whats your favourite movie? (I need suggestions of what new to watch!)
I really like The Impossible. If you haven't seen it, it is a film based on a true story about an English family who are caught a tsunami. It is sad but a really good film.

Tea or coffee?
I don't really drink either but if I had to pick, I would say tea. I drink green tea from time to time.

What shop do you spend the most in?
Probably Primark. I love a good bargain. If I see something cheap or a really good deal, I generally buy it when I would probably never even look at it if it was full price. Because of how cheap Primark is, this happens a lot and I usually end up racking up quite a large total.

What made you start blogging?
I literally only started blogging about 3 days ago. But I have been thinking about doing it for a very long time and I am so glad that I have. I love it!

Do you have a Youtube channel?
Nope

Are you scared of anything?
I have a massive fear of sharks. I think it came from Finding Nemo.

Biggest accomplishment so far?
I have accomplished quite a few things I am proud of. I always feel accomplished when I work really hard for something and it pays off. But, I don't really have one particular one that stands out to me.

If you could be someone for one day, who would you want to be?
Probably someone like Jenna Dewan-Tatum because I would like to see what it is like to be famous and I could be married to Channing Tatum for day!

I nominate:

My questions for you:
1. What is your go to item of clothing?
2. What is your favourite type of chocolate?
3. Favourite colour nail polish?
4. Are you more of a cat or dog person?
5. When did you develop an interest in makeup?
6. What is your favourite meal of the day?
7. Favourite piece of jewellery you own?
8. What countries would you like to visit?
9. Favourite childhood memory?
10. What do you find the best part of having a blog?
11. Favourite celebrity?

Thank you x

My Favourite Soap and Glory Skincare Products

I have always been a huge fan of Soap and Glory. I love a lot of their products and they have got a wide variety of choices when it comes to skincare. I also really love the packaging of all their products and the funny little notes they have on them.
So, here are my current favourite skincare products.

 The Righteous Butter
I love this product so much. It is so moisturising and soft on your skin. It leaves my arms and legs feeling nourished. It's perfect for me as I often get dry skin and I find that this really helps. Even though a lot of people have said that they didn't like the smell of this product, I love it, as I do with all Soap and Glory products.

Sugar Crush Fresh and Foamy Body Wash

My favourite thing about this product is definitely the smell. It has a scent that I really wasn't expecting. I've always found that most Soap and Glory products have a very similar smell, but this one is totally different. It is more of a citrus body wash and smells like lime. Aside from the smell, it is very moisturising and I am really enjoying using it.

Butter Yourself Moisture Lotion
Out of all the Soap and Glory moisturisers, this one is my favourite. It is the one that I use most days, after I have been in the bath or shower. It is so nourishing and gentle. I can really feel that it is good for my skin when I use it. The only thing that I don't like about this product, is that it takes a while to dry after you apply it. But other than that, I love it!

The Scrub of your Life
This is one of my all time favourites. It's perfect for exfoliating. It removes dead and dry skin and leaves your skin feeling very soft and smooth. Even though it's a scrub, it still feels so gentle on your skin. And obviously, it smells amazing.

Peaches and Clean 3-in-1 Wash off Deep Purifying Cleanser
This is definitely my favourite Soap and Glory skincare product. I use it as part of my face wash routine and I'm honestly not sure how my skin ever survived without it. I noticed a difference straight away when I first used it. It leaves your skin feeling fresh and completely clean. It, also, lasts for a very long time. I bought a new one today, but my previous one lasted, everyday, for around 6 months. I can't say enough good things about it, I just love it!

Let me know if you use any of these products and what you think of them. Also, let me know if you have any other favourites that I haven't mentioned.

Where to buy these products...
The Righteous Butter- £10.50
Sugar Crush Body Wash- £6.50
Butter Yourself Moisture Lotion- £10
The Scrub of your Life- £7
Peaches and Clean Cleanser-£8
